The sixth installment of the historical series The Chosen marks a significant structural shift by focusing its entire narrative on the day of Jesus’ crucifixion. Under the direction of Dallas Jenkins, this season moves away from the extended chronological format to deliver a detailed account of the events surrounding the trial and execution in Jerusalem over a period of just 24 hours.

Filming has required an exhaustive technical reconstruction of period settings, aiming for unprecedented visual accuracy to convey the intensity of the judicial process and the path to Calvary. Jonathan Roumie once again leads the cast as Jesus, facing the most physically and emotionally demanding challenge of his career as he portrays the central sacrifice of the biblical narrative. The storyline connects directly with the conclusion of the fifth season, maintaining the dramatic continuity that began with the arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane.

The production’s strategic planning includes a total of seven seasons, reserving the event of the resurrection for the definitive conclusion of the series in its final installment.
